About This Pose
Warrior I is a powerful standing pose that builds strength and stamina. It develops concentration, balance, and grounding energy.
How to Practice
- From Mountain Pose, step left foot back 3-4 feet
- Turn left foot out 45 degrees
- Bend right knee over right ankle
- Square hips toward front of mat
- Reach arms overhead, palms facing each other
- Gaze forward or slightly up
- Hold for 5 breaths, repeat other side
Benefits

Contraindications
High blood pressure, heart problems, or shoulder injuries may require arm modifications.
