About This Pose

Camel Pose opens the chest and hip flexors. It creates a deep backbend that energizes and stretches the entire front body.

How to Practice

  • Kneel with knees hip-width
  • Place hands on lower back
  • Press hips forward
  • Lean back, reaching for heels
  • Let head drop back comfortably
  • Keep hips over knees
  • Hold for 30 seconds

Benefits

This pose stretches entire front body, strengthens back muscles, improves posture. It opens the heart.

Contraindications

High or low blood pressure, migraine, insomnia, serious low back injury require caution.
