About This Pose

Half Moon Pose develops balance and coordination. It strengthens legs while opening the hips and chest.

How to Practice

  • From Triangle Pose on right side
  • Bend right knee, shift weight forward
  • Place right hand on floor or block
  • Lift left leg parallel to floor
  • Stack hips, open chest
  • Extend left arm toward ceiling
  • Gaze up or forward
  • Hold 5 breaths, switch sides

Benefits

This pose strengthens legs and core, improves coordination and balance. It stretches hamstrings and opens hips.

Modifications

Use wall for support. Place block under bottom hand.
